Education support for children of ex-servicemen

Support of ₹30 crore over two years to Armed Forces Flag Day Fund as education support for children of ex-servicemen (upto the rank of Hawaladar), dependents of martyrs, etc. Through the project REC has supported education for more than 25000 deserving students. Such was the impact of the project that REC was recently felicitated by Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh ji at an event organised by Kendriya Sainik Board.

Free of cost surgeries for children born with CHD

Support of ₹30 crore over two years to support free of cost surgeries for over 2100 children born with CHD Shri Sathya Sai Health & Chariatble Trust (SSSHET). Surgeries were conducted in SSSHET’s Sanjeevani Hospitals in Panvel (MH), Raipur (CG) and Palwal (HR). SSSHET has dedicated a ward in REC’s name in their Raipur Hospital

A glimpse of MMU scheme in Uttrakhand

MMU units for primary health care services in various districts

One of the key milestone for REC Foundation has been the launch of its flagship scheme to provide CSR assistance for ‘Procurement, operation and maintenance of 100 nos. of mobile medical units for primary health care services in various districts across India for a period of three years, to be implemented by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS)/any other expert agency.’ These MMUs will provide primary healthcare services at the doorstep of underprivileged populations and include the distribution of free medicines across the country. Till date, 57 MMUs have been sanctioned across various states such as Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujrat, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand and Karnataka. This scheme is a significant step by REC Foundation towards improving health care and its accessibility in deprived and underdeveloped areas across nation.

Solar Khadi Unit

Under REC’s initiative, Khadi Weaving, Spinning & Garment Unit has been created in KVIC, Varanasi. Additionally, 13 satellite khadi institutions set-up in vicinity

Quality Education & Nutrition for Tribal Children

Census 2011 indicates59% literacy rate among tribals (scheduled)vs. all-India literacy rate of 73%. Our initiativeaims at creating safe learning spaces &improving nutrition in tribal children. Education, food &other basic necessitiesare being provided for 1541 children in 11 seva-Kutirs in Khandwa, M.P.Our initiative also included construction of residential building for 150 tribal girls in Sehore, M.P. It provides safe residential education facility to children from underprivileged background

Promoting Excellence in Sports in India

REC is extending CSR Assistance of ₹100 Cr. for the project, “Broad basing of Sports and promotion of excellence in sports in India” being implemented by National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS), GoI. the project covers three sports namely Boxing, Athletics and Badminton.
